Permanent makeup is an advanced technique for applying natural looking makeup and is the implantation of micro pigments into the dermal layer of the skin. Also known as micropigmentation, it imitates perfectly applied cosmetics with natural-looking results that can be as subtle or as dramatic as you want.
If you would like makeup that stays put day or night, rain or shine, gym or swim then this is for you! If you envy the perfectly shaped and defined eyebrows of celebrities or the luscious lips of models but haven’t got the time to spend drawing them on every day, then this is for you!
Permanent makeup can help to transform your life and daily beauty regime – think of the money and time saved from not having to apply and re-apply regular makeup.
Can you imagine waking up in the morning with full, sultry lips, fresh looking eyes and beautifully shaped eyebrows framing your face? If that sounds like heaven to you then permanent makeup is the way forward!
How does permanent makeup work?
We begin with a consultation during which we analyse face shape, skin undertones and hair and eye colour. We discuss your desired look and how this can be achieved. When the most suitable colour for you has been decided, we draw the enhancement on with cosmetic pencil to demonstrate how it will look once the procedure is carried out. Once you are happy with the shape and the colour we then apply numbing agents to ensure maximum comfort.
The procedure involves infusing hypo-allergenic specialist pigments into the dermal layer of your skin with the use of an electronic hand piece. This specialist hand piece allows for extreme precision and accuracy. The process used is similar to that of a tattoo but the depth of implantation is 0.5mm instead of 3-4mm.
The results fade gradually over 1-3 years, with a ‘colour boost’ recommended 12-15 months after the initial application to ensure the enhancement remains fresh and in optimum condition.
Your appointment takes between 2 – 3 hours. A complimentary fine-tuning appointment (4-8 weeks post procedure) and aftercare products are included in our prices.

Common Questions Asked
Does it hurt?
Every client has a different comfort level so the sensation is variable. This is also dependent on the procedure performed however numbing agents are applied to the skin before and during the procedure to minimise discomfort. Most people rate their discomfort on a scale of 1-10 at about a 3 or 4.
How long will permanent makeup last?
The enhancement can last for 1-3 years but over time the colour will fade and break down over time. This is a natural process however factors such as overexposure to the sun, smoking, medication and metabolism can speed up this process. It is recommended that clients return for a colour boost every 12-15 months to ensure their enhancement stays looking fresh and the intensity of colour remains the same.
How long will the procedure take?
Treatment times vary according to what is required however the first procedure should take approximately 2 hours after the initial consultation. The control appointment should take approximately one hour.
How long will it take to heal?
Immediately after the procedure and for the first three to seven days the colour will appear darker and more defined however, this will lighten and become softer. You may also experience mild redness and swelling for the first couple of days, particularly with eyeliner and lip enhancements. When healing the skin will gently flake off and the area will lighten. For many the results may be too light which is why four to eight weeks after your initial treatment we offer a complimentary follow up appointment to fine-tune and perfect the results.
How will it look immediately after the procedure?
The colour will appear a darker shade than the desired result for up to one week after treatment and mild redness and swelling may be apparent for a few days however, normal activity can be resumed immediately post procedure.
